I think I want an Olds 88 50th Anniversary Edition, bask in its majesty!
What a handsome car.

I always though the Oldsmobile LSS was super classy. Most were naturally aspirated but some of them were supercharged.

Supercharged 3800 is peak 90's GM.

Today I saw a Park Ave and thought “man that design has aged well”

Confession time: I’ve always loved the final generation, final facelift version of the 88, the LSS in particular. Especially in lighter colors, the effect of the blacked out A- and B- pillars with a body color C-pillar creates a great wraparound glass effect. The thin strip of wood that wraps around the interior also seems to flow right into the red reflector strip on the tail. It’s a very cool, cohesive design for a car with crappy FWD proportions. God that front overhang is awful, but I still like the final product.

Nah, it’s just the 2003 facelift. New wheels, uglier grill, ventiports.

I concur.

The black pillars with tinted windows would be hot sauce.

My dad almost bought one of these new. He ended up spending the same amount of money on a used Aurora. That was a HUUUUUUGE mistake. The Aurora was a pile of crap.

Agreed, they’re good looking cars.

The same can be said for other H-bodies of that era. I had a ’92 LeSabre that shared similar design qualities.

But it was a stunning pile of crap. (The first gen, anyway)

It was a first gen, an emerald green ‘95 with the Autobahn package. It was quicker and handled better than any giant front wheel drive sedan had a right to be ... but such a piece of shit. Also, the front passenger seat was super cramped.
